Chiron and Hygeia met on June 5th for a conjunction, starting a new cycle or phase. They conjunct each other every six years. This year we have a Chiron Hygeia Conjunction 2024. This conjunction took place in the sign of Aries at 22 degrees and 28 minutes. Aries is a cardinal sign, all about action, ambition, drive, movement forward now.
Chiron: Asteroid, Centaur, Comet, or Minor Planet? All seem to fit.

Mythology of Chiron (Greek)
- Chiron as a Centaur (part horse & part man), son of Titan Cronus & Philyra, a sea nymph.
- Lived at the foot of Mount Pelion.
- Unlike other Centaurs, he rose above the beastly nature.
- known for his wisdom & knowledge of medicine. He is also, credited with discovery of botany, pharmacy, & the science of herbs & medicine.
- His stepfather Apollo taught him herbs, medicine, & archery
Chiron’s Wound
- Chiron: Wounded from a poisoned arrow that was dipped in poisonous blood of Hydra.
- Retreated to a cave to heal himself but couldn’t. In pain & couldn’t die, immortality.
- Traded his immortality, release Prometheus (the god punished for gifting fire to humans).
- Zeus honored Chiron’s sacrifice & wisdom and allowing him to be placed among the stars for eternity.
Hygeia Healing Asteroid
- Hygeia Asteroid #10
- Discovered April 12, 1849 by Italian Astronomer Annibale de Gasparis (29 yrs old)
- Orbits the Sun, between Mars & Jupiter, 2,030 days or 5.56 yrs
- Hygeia is the daughter of Asclepius
- Health, preventive health, & hygiene
Greek Mythology of Hygeia
- Hygeia in Greek Mythology is the Goddess of health, “hygiene”, and preservation
- Physical health, patroness of Mental Health
- She is the Daughter and chief attendant to Asklepios, god of medicine
- Cleanliness & preventative medicine
- She has two sisters: Panacea (Cure-All) & Iaso (Remedy) roman name Salas.
This relationship between Chiron and Hygiea gives us a broader and deeper understanding of the Souls wound and lessons in life that have to be “healed”.

Astrology Chart of Chiron Hygeia Conjunction 2024
In the chart above Chiron and Hygeia are in the 6th house of health, day to day routines, and work. I believe this gives us all an opportunity to do some quick healing on a deep level. Adding in some form of activity may assist in the healing process too. It can be really simple. Park 3 spaces farther than necessary, drink water instead of a drink filled with sugar. The caution would be that we may also trigger other’s wounds easily at this time. Be kind to yourself and others.
